Music Monday - Record Store Day

Last Saturday, the 21st April was officially Record Store Day. The celebration was incepted in 2007 when 700 independent American record stores came together to celebrate their unque culture, with the UK record stores joining them soon after it has grown to quite the celebration with this year being no exception.
The day sees special vinyl and CD releases as well other one off promotional items and giveaways that are made exclusively for Record Store day. This year we saw special releases from Animal Collective, Arctic Monkeys, Battles, Blondie, Hot Chip and much much more.

Some retailers put on special in store performances and DJ sets. Glasgow's number one indpedent record store and retailer of some of the finest music software available Rubadub , celebrated in style with live DJ's playing all day including Joy Orbison and Jackmaster (who were playing later that night at Chambre 69).

I was lucky enough to make it down and the place was rammed with good vibes all round and brilliant music. Here's to next year.
