Music Monday - Frank Ocean
Frank Ocean's is an exciting prospect in music right now, seen as the man who is regenrating r'n'B with his excellent and wholly original intimate music. His debut album Channel Orange was released earlier this month and earlier than originally planned due to high demand. The young star who has written songs for the likes of John Legend and Justin Beiber has seen his career sky rocket since he released his first free mixtape in 2010 which led collaborations with Jay Z and Kanye West and now his full length debut album titled Channel Orange.
His first mixtape release came in 2010 when he joined the creative music, art, rap collective (gang) Odd Future. Where he adopted their undergound approach to releasing music by giving out free downloadable mixtapes rather than the more original approach of releasing through a record company. This approach ignited his career.
For his debut album he opted for the more original approach of releasing through a label, it is clear he has shaken off his underground roots to step in to the mainstream as one of the most exciting artist in R'n'B. The album is a more accomplished piece of work that features blissed out melodies and intimate lyrics the highlight has got to be Pyramids an 8 min long beleter.

The Batmobile Documentary
One of the most anticipated films of the year The Dark Knight Rises is soon to make an appearance on our cinema screens. The film is set to be released this month, but it is during the 2012 holiday that we shall see Warner Brothers release a special Batmobile documentary that will come along with the release of the Blu-Ray edition of the movie. The documentary itself chronicles the ultimate crime-fighting vehicle that has been called "a mythic character in itself." A YouTube preview of the Batmobile documentary is linked to the July 20 release of The Dark Knight Rises,
the final chapter in director Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy.
The Batmobile documentary offers a deep dive into all details of the
supercar, from its "Bat-chutes" to its blazing machine guns.
The short sneak peek film shown above includes vintage cartoon panels of early Batman vehicles from DC Comics and footage of various TV and movie Batman vehicles, including the original 1966 George Barris Batmobile from the TV series.
Adam West, who played Batman in the TV series, described the Batmobile as a "mythic character in itself." The documentary underscores the fact that Batman had no super powers and needed a special vehicle to take on the bad guys.
The documentary is coming to Blu-ray and digital download in December.

Graffiti and brands
Two of our favourite and most popular brands to date, The Hundreds and Obey, have both recently decided to choose and support graffiti artists and crews to showcase what they have to offer.
Recently a video surfaced of Shepard Faireys Obey brand supporting the Russian CHO Crew, the video showcases their antics throughout Russia and a trip to spain. Excellent footage and edited very stylishly this video comes across very cool, the video also hosts great shots of wheat pasting/postering giving us an insight into how Shepard Fairey rose to fame and how he went about it. Aside from this there are some great shots of a lovely girl in high waisted shots skateboarding through Barcelona, a great way to kill time on a rainy day like today.
Unfortunately it wont let me embed the video on this blogger so you can find that video here.
The second group of artists and brand in hand is The Seventh Letter working with The Hundreds. These video gives us a look at each artist from the crew and what they have to say about graffiti. This video here shows Revok talking about his past to fellow artist and member of The Seventh Letter Alex2Tone, giving us some good tales as a writer and how his Dad felt about the whole thing. This video also informs us of how the collaboration between the two came to be, a collab which we were all very excited to see.
