The JJ DOOM project is the collaboration between  English born American rapper and serial collaborattor MF DOOM (also known as Metal Face, Metal Fingers, Viktor Vaughn, Zev Love X) ato the scene Brooklyn based  Jneiro Jarel who produces hip hop beats as well as rapping. With Jneiro's history  of production of Acid Jazz to Afro-Brazilian and everything in between and MF DOOM's a;ternative style and flow, the collaboration is something pretty exciting for the hip hop heads. Last week saw the realease of their first video for first track "Guv'nor" which sees MF DOOM return to the screen after being away for a while. The video is pretty interesting in the way that th

The Edwin X Lavenham Lifesaver Set is in store now and we have the exclusive limited collaboration between the original masters of the quilted jacket, Lavenham and original Japanese denim brand Edwin to create a small outerwear collection consisting of a jacket and a gillet. We could not be happier to see two brands that we stock and value highly coming together to create a collection that draws inspiration from both brands history and ethos of high production quality. Both items are made from a unique "Black Wool" fabric that has been developed exclusively for the project. It may not look like it but this is actually denim, 9.5oz that has been havily brushed in order to create the unique "Black Wool" finish which is soft to the touch. With Edwin bringing the denim, Lavenham designed and manufactured the jacket basing the silhouette on classic lifesaver vests in their UK based Sudbury factory adding their renowkned quilting and removable Edwin shank

Music Monday - Captain Murphy

Image
A few weeks ago Odd Future's Earl Sweatshirt and Brainfeeder honcho Flying Lotus dropped a track named "Between Friends" for Adult Swim, alongside them appeared mysterious rapper Captain Murphy with a lyrical style that sounded heavily influenced by MF DOOM/Madvillain. Since then Captain Murphy has released a couple more tracks including a remix of Hud Mo and Lunice's TNGHT project's Bugg'n but still no clue as to who the mysterious rapper is. There are theories that it is Tyler The Creator with his voice pitched, as this sounds like exactly something he would do and has done in the past. However according to the Captain Murphy account it is not Tyler the Creator, but he is very thankful for all the free publicity he is getting from him. The other theory is that it's the rapping moniker for Flying Lotus himself, with the lyrics ghost written by Earl Sweatshirt. This could also be plausible as Fly Lo is known as a producer with a sense of humour

She's known for explicit lyrical content and open attitude, which usually ends up in controversy. More recently she graced the cover of Dazed and Confused Magazine, she posed blowing up a condom, subsequently the cover has been banned in 7 countries. I dont think she'll be caring tho!

Vans California - Carillo

Image
Vans are pretty massive now, and it seems every kid is rocking a pair, BUT not the Vans California range, this is a range only sold in certain select boutique stores around the world, we'll be the only store in Glasgow selling this range. Our favourite shoe is the Vans Carillo, a very good contemporary shoe, has styling cues from Clarks and so far has been very well received instore, its been attracting a lot of attention from the 'older' customer, great looking shoe and we advise you to keep your eyes peeled as their are some great pieces due in from Vans California.. Of course there is a full range from Vans Classics online and instore. And there is still a fill range from Vans OTW online and instore.

Music Monday - Todd Terje

Image
You may have already heard of "Todd Terje" if not you will soon with the release of his infectious "Inspector Norse" single, which is looking to be one of the catchiest, exciting and probably one of the most simple dance tracks of the summer if not the year. The video for it is pretty funny too, keep your eyes peeled for the full short movie version to be released pretty soon. Originally from Norway Todd Terje is a DJ/Producer who would be placed in the Nu-Disco genre. He started to build a large undergound following after he put out early re-edits and his debut single Euro dans, which has summer written all over. He's got one hell of a tache an all. The Norwegian based DJ/Producer who studied Physics at Oslo University is likely to have been influenced by fellow Norwegians Lindstrom and Prins Tomas, in creating modern disco and some really excellent re-edits of old disco classics such as Chic - I want your love. Luckily for us here in Glasgow Todd
